摘要
Over the past few decades, sleep disorders have emerged as a critical health and social concern glob-ally.With the advancement of cutting-edge research techniques, sleep scientists have made significant strides in unveiling the intricate principles that regulate sleep and wakefulness,as well as the mechanistic underpinnings of sleep disorders.Recent advancements in sleep research have led to groundbreaking discoveries across several areas, including the identification of brain regions, neural cir-cuits,and specific neuron types involved in sleep and wake regulation;the exploration of the mechanisms behind sleep pressure and biological rhythms;the development of new devices for evaluating both phys-iological and pathological sleep;and the investigation of novel therapeutic strategies, such as new drugs and nonpharmacological interventions, aimed at improving sleeprelated disorders. We anticipate an influx of innovative and influential scientific research in sleep science in the near future.
