摘要
网络传播的回声室效应直接影响着数字时代的民主极化,值得深入研究。就当代西方的情况来看,社交媒体中的回声室效应带来了群体内部的同质化和群体外部的异质化,加剧了选民极化、社会极化、党派极化和信任危机,对数字民主产生了重要影响。个人选择、算法推荐、意见领袖的引导、包容性强的沟通平台的缺失、政府监管不力等因素推动了回声室效应的产生和固化。随着政治极化的蔓延,打破回声室效应的闭环,恢复民主对话与社会共识,已成为当务之急。通过引导用户主动寻求多样化信息源、推动社交媒体平台改进算法推送、鼓励意见领袖参与跨界对话、建立渠道平台加强用户交流沟通以及加强政府监管,有望修正回声室效应,缓解政治极化风险,维护和重构健康的公共话语环境和民主机制。
The echo chamber effect of online communication directly affects democratic polarization in the digital age and deserves in-depth study.As far as the contemporary Western situation is concerned,the echo chamber effect in social media brings about homogenization within groups and heterogeneity outside groups,exacerbates voter polarization,social polarization,partisan polarization,and the crisis of trust,and has a significant impact on digital democracy.Personal choice,algorithmic recommendations,guidance from opinion leaders,the absence of inclusive communication platforms,and poor government regulation have contributed to the creation and solidification of the echo chamber effect.With the spread of political polarization,it has become imperative to break the closed loop of the echo chamber effect and restore democratic dialogue and social consensus.By guiding users to actively seek diversified information sources,pushing social media platforms to improve algorithmic pushing,encouraging opinion leaders to participate in cross-border dialogues,establishing channel platforms to strengthen users'exchanges and communications,and strengthening government regulation,it is expected to correct the echo chamber effect,mitigate the risk of political polarization,and maintain and reconstruct a healthy public discourse environment and democratic mechanism.
