巴德(1933—2024),美国著名电化学家,在电化学发光、光电化学和扫描电化学显微镜等领域具有开创性、基础性贡献,其职业生涯数十年一直引领着电化学发展前沿,被誉为“现代电化学之父”。此外,他还在电化学教育、中美学术交流等方面有着重要的推动作用。厘清巴德的生平和在电化学领域的重要工作,诠释他在电化学研究和教育中的思想和方法,可以促进对电化学学科发展的理解,启迪当代电化学的研究,因而具有深远的历史意义和现实意义。
Allen Joseph Bard(1933—2024),a renowned American electrochemist,made groundbreaking and fundamental contributions to the fields of electrochemiluminescence,photoelectrochemistry,and scanning electrochemical microscope.His career has been at the forefront of electrochemical development for decades,earning him the title of“Father of Modern Electrochemistry.”Additionally,he has played a pivotal role in electrochemical education and academic exchanges between China and the United States.Clarifying Bard’s life and significant work in the field of electrochemistry can not only enhance our understanding of the development of electrochemistry but also illuminate his ideas and methods in electrochemical research and education.Therefore,it holds profound historical and practical significance.
