鲁滨逊的史学愿景与“1916年社会科委员会报告”

摘要 鲁滨逊强调史学之现实功用,期望通过对传统史学的现代化改造和面向公众的普及,实现民众思想之现代化,进而以公众理性推进社会改良。“1916年社会科委员会报告”作为鲁滨逊“新史学”推广的主要载体,将其史学愿景和社会改革构想有效链接,集中呈现了其史学改革、教育改革和社会改革的核心理念和内在逻辑。但在报告颁行后的70余年间,在社会科课程框架下的美国历史教育却持续衰落,实践与愿景的悖离出乎鲁滨逊之预期,是美国社会急剧转型、进步主义教育改革迅猛推进,以及“新史学”与课程文本自身局限等诸多因素共同作用的结果。 Robinson emphasizes the practical value of historiography,hoping to achieve the modernization of public thinking and promote social improvement through the transformation and popularization of traditional historical studies.As the main carrier of Robinson's new historiography promotion,the the 1916 Report of the Committee on Social Studies effectively links its historical vision and social reform ideas,concentrating on presenting the core concepts and internal logic of its historical reform,educational reform,and social reform.However,in the 70 years following the issuance of the report,American history education within the framework of social science courses has continued to decline.The deviation between practice and vision has exceeded Robinson's expectations,which is the result of a rapid transformation in American society,the vigorous advancement of progressive educational reforms,as well as the combined influence of limitations within new historiography and curriculum texts.
