摘要
顾颉刚的民族思想,交织着情感与理智的矛盾。他早期的古史辨史学,尽管有理性的一面,但其个性、情感及五四运动的氛围等非理性因素,是其走上疑古反传统激进道路的重要影响因素。在中华民族危亡的关头,顾颉刚反思其古史辨民族话语并转变疑古反传统立场,不过,在一些非正式场合关于民族问题的谈论中,偶尔仍表现出古史辨的倾向,其中不无学究偏见和情绪化。但总体来看,顾颉刚的中华民族研究坚持以理智指导情感,实现了情感与理智的统一。其中华民族研究经历了从打破“中国民族出于一元”到建构“中华民族是一个”理论的转变,其对中国传统文化的态度,也由怀疑批判转向理智的认识与热爱,从反传统的民族主义者,转变为重传统的民族主义者和爱国主义者。
The thoughts of ethnicity and nation of Gu Jiegang顾颉刚are filled with contradictions between emotion and rationality.Despite the rationality of his academic pursuit,irrational factors such as his personality,emotions,and the atmosphere of the May Fourth Movement were important influences that led him to embark on the radical path of doubting ancient history.At the critical juncture of the Chinese nation,Gu began to reflect on his discourse of ethnicity and nation,changing his skeptical and anti-traditional stance;however,occasionally he still showed a tendency toward doubting ancient history in some informal talks,which were not without pedantic bias and emotionalism.Nevertheless,on the whole,Gu’s research on the Chinese nation insists on guiding emotion with rationality,achieving a unity of emotion and rationality.His study of the Chinese nation has evolved from deconstructing the“Chinese nation out of one”to constructing the theory that“the Chinese nation is one”,reflecting a shift in his attitude toward traditional Chinese culture from skepticism and criticism to rational understanding and love,witnessing his transformation from an anti-traditional nationalist to a pro-traditional nationalist and patriot.
