摘要
中国式现代化创造人类文明新形态,为中国的现代性注入了蓬勃的力量。马克斯·韦伯作为西方研究现代性的重要学者,对其思想的研究、学术互鉴,有助于更好地把握中国式现代化的整体图景和历史性超越。“铁笼”隐喻反映了韦伯对现代资本主义社会以及普遍化的科层制/官僚制所带来的个体自由摧毁的沉重忧虑。然而,通过对韦伯思想的溯源,回到其著作的多重叙事中,可以发现这一“铁笼”是韦伯自身思想的窠臼,而非现代社会发展的必然。当韦伯多重叙事方式编织的铁笼被必然呈现出来时,韦伯的现代西方逻辑立场与彻底祛魅的偏执误解使之囿于其中,并拒绝任何非现代性、非西方的和解,从而排除了在铁笼外部寻求答案的可能性,去韦伯化的现代性研究也得以可能。
Chinese modernisation creates a new form of human civilisation and injects vigour into China's modernity.As an important scholar of modernity in the West,a study of Max Weber's ideas can help to better grasp the overall picture of Chinese modernisation and its historical transcendence.The metaphor of the"iron cage"reflects Weber's concern about the destruction of individual freedom brought about by modern capitalist society and the generalised hierarchy/bureaucracy.However,by tracing the origins of Weber's thought back to the multiple narratives of his writings,it is obvious that this"iron cage"is a niche of Weber's own thought rather than an inevitability of modern social development.When the iron cage woven by Weber's multiple narratives is inevitably presented,Weber's modern Western logical position and paranoid misunderstanding of total demythologization keep him trapped within it,rejecting any non-modernity,non-Western reconciliation,thus precluding the possibility of seeking answers outside the iron cage,and making a de-Weberian study of modernity possible.
