摘要
通过《达洛维夫人》中不同叙事者对关于东方形象多角度的叙事,探讨了战后阴霾下帝国国民对“他国”空间的错综想象。叙事所呈现的帝国与他国这两个空间的并置充满张力,多元叙事下构建的东方在真实与想象间无限开放,其中有关东方意象塑造的叙事既有独特的美学又带有鲜明的政治色彩。《达洛维夫人》中的东方意象首先呈现在不同叙事者关对于东方的直接体验,异化的东方形象,同样来自于伍尔夫关于东方的文学创作与获帝国身份的建构的关联。关于东方意象构建的独特叙事既是她叙事技艺的实践,也体现了她颇具后殖民主义色彩的现代性焦虑。
In Mrs.Dalloway,Virginia Woolf presents an oriental image applying an experimental multiple narration,and complicated imagination of imperial citizens creates the Other country contrasting with the prosperous and highly civilized empire.The juxtaposition between the empire and Other country is quite intensive.The Orient,like the third space in Soja's theory,is a combination of reality and imagination with infinitive possibilities,in which revolt and challenge against the hegemony and eurocentrism are produced.Woolf's British nationality and cultural imperialist political trend are hidden in her remarkable literary achievements.Woolf's modernism narration on British life and oriental imagination provides a textual practice interacting with the theory of Cultural Imperialism and enriches the connotation of Postmodernism Space.
