摘要
宾夕法尼亚医院是18世纪美国中期医院建设的代表,是美国第一家医院。在宾夕法尼亚医院建设前,北美医院以救济院为主,院区环境恶劣且医疗质量低下,无法满足医院专业化的需求。与同时期医疗机构相比,宾夕法尼亚医院在建设模式、医院设计、医学研究和教育等方面具有首创意义。作为美国首家医院,宾夕法尼亚医院对此后美国医院建设资金筹集模式创新、设计理念更新、功能拓展和医学学科发展均产生了深远影响。
The Pennsylvania Hospital was representative of early American hospitals which were constructed in the 18th century and was considered the first hospital in the United States.Before its building,North American hospitals were mainly almshouses with poor environment and low quality of medical care,which could not meet the demand for professional and modern hospitals in the U.S..Compared to other medical institutions of the same era,Pennsylvania Hospital was the first of its kind in terms of construction model,hospital design,medical research and education.It had a profound impact on the subsequent innovation of funding and design,the functional expansion and the development of the medical discipline in the United States.
