Zoology as a discipline has a history extending over more than 200 years,and during this time it has developed many sub-branches.In the 1970s,there was a feeling that zoology had imploded under the weight of its many subdisciplines and specialties.This resulted in the demise of zoology in the curricula of a good many universities,and often its exclusion from lists of scientific disciplines.
