论约翰·罗斯金的国民教育思想

摘要 约翰·罗斯金不仅是英国19世纪著名的作家、艺术评论家,也是一位教育思想改革者。本文立足英国19世纪国民教育改革背景,分析罗斯金在道德教育、趣味教育、劳动教育和学科教育方面的教育思想,我们认为罗斯金非常强调个人的道德提升,注重人格的升华和国民意识的构建。罗斯金不仅着眼于当时英国民众的品格与艺术修养,期望能通过教育培养出具有高尚品格和较高审美能力的高素质未来公民,也不忘劳动实践的重要性,将其作为抵制机器大生产对人的异化的抵御之策,以实现公民身心健康发展,推动“英国性”的良性建构。他是英国国民教育改革的积极参与者、实践者,其国民教育思想蕴含着深刻的国家认同意识。 John Ruskin is not only a famous British writer and art critic in the 19th century,but also a reformer of educational thoughts.Based on the background of the British national education reform in the 19th century,this article analyzes Ruskin's educational thoughts in moral education,taste education,labor education and subject education,the article holds that Ruskin greatly emphasized promotion of individual morality,sublimation of personality and construction of national consciousness.Ruskin not only focused on the British people's character and artistic accomplishment at that time,expecting to cultivate high-quality future citizens with noble character and high aesthetic ability through education,but also did not forget the importance of labor practice,taking it as a way to resist alienation of human beings caused by mechanization production,so as to realize citizens'physical and mental healthy development,and to promote the benign construction of"Britishness".Ruskin is an active participant and practitioner of the British national education reform,whose national education ideology contains a profound sense of national identity.
