“以赛促教”的高职英语口语教学模式实践研究

摘要 目的为了提升高职学生职业英语的运用能力,制定出将大赛内容纳入课堂教学和课外活动中“以赛促教”的高职英语口语教学模式。方法(1)调查法。通过对教师和学生进行访谈和问卷,发现目前高职英语口语教学中存在所授内容与职场应用脱节的问题;(2)专家咨询法。通过咨询专家,课题组对所存在的问题进行讨论,制定将大赛内容纳入课堂教学和课外活动中“以赛促教”的高职英语口语教学模式;(3)行动研究法。在该院涉外护理系学生的口语课中进行该教学模式的实践研究。结果(1)新教学模式实践后学生的听力、口语、词汇、课文理解分别比实践前提高了8.4%、10.2%、5.6%、9.4%;期中、期末及总评的平均成绩分别比实践前提高了6.8%、6.0%、5.8%。(2)实验前该院参赛选手的最好成绩是省赛二等奖,实验后该院一名选手获得了一等奖第二名的好成绩,并因此获得了入围国赛的参赛资格。(3)该模式在该院仅开设公共英语课程的医学系进行了推广,收到了较好的教学效果,极大地激发了学生学习英语的热情、调动了学生的参赛积极性。(4)将辅导教师奖纳入教师的年终评优评先及晋升职称的考核中,激发了广大英语教师参与课外活动及大赛辅导的热情。结论(1)数据统计显示经过一学期的实验,实验后的各项成绩均明显高于实验前的成绩(期中、期末及总评的平均成绩分别比实验前提高了6.8%、6.0%、5.8%),该教学模式改革初见成效。该研究的实验结果说明,学生的学习效果与该教学模式呈显著正相关。(2)实验前后各项成绩均存在统计学差异,即P﹤0.01,实验后的成绩均优于实验前。统计结果证明,实验后采取的新的教学模式提升了教学效果,提高了学生的学习成绩,该模式具有推广价值。 Object In order to comprehensively improve the vocational English application ability of vocational college students,a teaching mode of oral English in vocational college was developed which included the content of the competition in classroom teaching and extracurricular activities.Method(1)Survey method Through interviews and questionnaires with teachers and students,it is found that the content of oral English teaching in higher vocational colleges is out of step with its application in the workplace.(2)Expert consultation Through consulting experts,the research group discussed the existing problems,and developed the oral English teaching mode of higher vocational colleges that incorporated the content of the competition into classroom teaching and extracurricular activities.(3)Action approach A practical study on this teaching model was carried out in the oral English course of the foreign nursing students in our college.Result(1)After the practice of the new teaching mode,students'listening comprehension,speaking comprehension,vocabulary comprehension and text comprehension were improved by 8.4%,10.2%,5.6%and 9.4%,respectively.The average scores of the mid-term,the final and the general grade increased by6.8%,6.0%and 5.8%respectively.(2)Before the experiment,the best result of our competitors was the second prize of the provincial competition.After the experiment,one of our competitors won the first prize and was qualified for the national competition.(3)This model is also promoted in the department of medicine,which only offers public English courses in our college.It has achieved good teaching results,greatly arousing students'enthusiasm for learning English and encouraging them to participate in the competition.The guidance teacher award is included in the assessment of teachers'merit and promotion at the end of the year,which stimulates the enthusiasm of English teachers to participate in extracurricular activities and tutoring competitions.Conclusion(1)Statistics show that after a semester of experiments,the scores of the experiment are significantly higher than those before the experiment(the average scores of the mid-term,the final and the general grade increased by6.8%,6.0%and 5.8%respectively).The reform of the teaching mode has achieved initial results.The experimental results of this study show that the learning effect of students is significantly positively correlated with the teaching model.(2)The results before and after the experiment were statistically different,that is,P<0.01,and the results after the experiment were better than those before the experiment.The statistical results show that the new teaching model adopted after the experiment has improved the teaching effect and students'academic performance,and this model has the promotion value.
