For anthropology, image should be a way of viewing and meaning interpretation, rather than an auxiliary tool or method.Beyond intellectualism and returning to the vision of“concreteness”,images will bring new cognitive models and cognitive contents to anthropology. How do ethnographic films produce knowledge? How to realize the anthropological purpose of“recognizing and identifying culture”?Starting from the essence and characteristics of images, this paper introduces three layers of progressive dimensions of“vision”,“daily life”,and“emotion”,and tries to explain an anthropological knowledge production mechanism different from the orientation of words and concepts. This paper believes that presenting lively daily life through vision and constructing the expressive form of transmitting life emotion can vividly“explain the behavior of people of one culture to people of another culture”,and then produce irreplaceable anthropological knowledge.
