In 1986, a porcelain plate( T2(4) : 49) was unearthed at the site of Zhihui street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The plate was inscribed with the Chinese word "Jiu Suan" in sauce color. Through typological comparison, this paper holds that this plate was the product of Liulichang kiln in Chengdu during the former and later Shu period. The inscription "Jiu Suan" should be "leek and garlic". Much Tang literature recorded that leek and garlic were the favorite vegetables of the Tang people. This plate proves the consumption of leek and garlic by Chengdu people in the former and later Shu period from the perspective of physical objects, which can be an addendum to the literature.
