摘要
《女勇士》是美国华裔作家汤亭亭的代表作品,讲述了几位具有不同背景的华人女性的故事,从女性主义角度对父权制提出了批判。基于瑞文·康奈尔的男性气质理论考察书中男性形象的男性气质,为汤亭亭对父权制的批判提供了独特视角。分析书中男性人物形象,探讨汤亭亭所批判的支配性、共谋性、多面性男性气质以及她所构想的双性同体的理想男性气质,可以揭示出汤亭亭对男性挣脱父权规约的鼓励态度,以及期待构建理想男性气质、平等和谐的两性关系的愿望。
The Woman Warrior,a representative work of Chinese-American writer Maxine Hong Kingston,relates the stories of several Chinese American women of different backgrounds,and criticizes the patriarchy from the perspective of feminism.Based on Raewyn Connell’s theory of masculinity,the examination of the male images’masculinities provides a unique perspective for Kingston’s criticism towards patriarchy.The analysis of the male images in the work to explore the hegemonic,complicit,and multifaceted masculinities Kingston criticizes and the idealized androgynous masculinity she envisions,reveals Kingston’s encouragement towards men’s freeing themselves from the bonds of patriarchy,and expresses her expectations of constructing the ideal masculinity and equal,harmonious gender relations.
