Objective To observe the effect of Tong Nao Tiao Shen unblocking the brain and regulating the mind acupuncture method plus sequential scene awakening on patients in persistent vegetative state(PVS). Method Ninety PVS patients were recruited and randomized into a sequential scene awakening group, a Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture group and a joint group, with 30 cases in each group. The sequential scene awakening group was intervened by super-large high-definition curved LED display and professional-grade audio equipment for sound and photoelectric stereoscopic audio-visual stimulation;the Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture group was treated with modified Tong Yuan(connecting Yuan-primary spirit) acupuncture and Jin San Zhen(Jin’s tripe needle method);the joint group was treated with Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture plus sequential scene awakening method. The PVS clinical efficacy scale score was compared before and after treatment, and clinical efficacy was also observed.Result After treatment, the total effective rate in the joint group was superior to that in the sequential scene awakening group and Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The PVS clinical efficacy scale score increased after treatment in the three groups, all presenting statistical significance(P<0.05). The PVS efficacy scale score in the joint group was superior to that in the sequential scene awakening group and Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the PVS efficacy scale score in the Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture group was better than that in the sequential scene awakening group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Tong Nao Tiao Shen acupuncture plus sequential scene awakening can improve the clinical efficacy for PVS patients in recovering the consciousness, and it may be the joint effect of the optimization of resuscitation plan and collaborative model.
