贸易急剧扩张如何影响居民主观幸福感--基于中国社会调查微观数据的实证研究 被引量:1

How Does Trade Expansion Affect Subjective Well-Being:Empirical Evidence from Chinese General Social Survey Data

摘要 本文使用“中国综合社会调查”(CGSS)2003—2013年的个人层面数据,基于省份-国家层面的引力模型构造了以距离、面积和比邻等地理因素为基础的省份层面国际贸易工具变量,对贸易与居民主观幸福感的影响关系进行识别,得出四个主要结论:(1)平均而言,在贸易快速发展的2003—2013年,贸易的扩张对于居民主观幸福感具有显著的负效应,贸易份额增加百分之一,居民主观幸福感指数将会减少0.052,此结论在一系列稳健性检验中均存在,但其影响也存在异质性;(2)贸易对于居民主观幸福感的负面影响主要通过工作强度增加和健康状况恶化两种渠道进行传导;(3)宏观层面上其异质性影响表现在:环境污染、收入不平等程度增加、失业率增加会降低该地区的居民主观幸福感;(4)在微观层面上更为重要的是,贸易扩张对居民主观幸福感的异质性影响意味着新的不平等:拥有城镇户口、国有企业工作、更高教育水平、更高收入水平、更短工作时间和更优健康状况的个人更为幸福。 We identify the causal impacts of international trade on subjective well-being with Chinese General Social Survey data(2003—2013),based on an instrumental variable built with geographic information such as distance,area,and border using the gravity equation at the country-province level.We make four conclusions:(1)The rapid expansion of international trade during 2003—2013 imposes significant negative impacts on subjective well-being.On average,1%increase in trade is associated with 0.052 decline in the subjective well-being index.This result is robust to a series of tests but heterogeneous in nature;(2)The main mechanisms are increasing work intensity and deteriorate in health;(3)Subjective well-being due to trade declines more as the environmental pollution,income inequality,unemployment rates increase;(4)More importantly,the heterogeneous effects of trade imply new inequality across groups:residents with urban(rural)hukou,Party membership,jobs in state-owned enterprises,more education,higher incomes,shorter working hours,and better health conditions are subject to less negative impacts of trade.
