摘要
格吕克认同济慈所推崇的消极能力,即人能够在无定、神秘、怀疑中生存而不急于诉诸事实和道理。她相信一个好诗人的生活和工作方式皆是如此——活着,保持好奇开放的心态,不停地吸收,积极主动地消除偏见,把自我当作实验室在其中实践并掌握典型的人类困境,创作出求索而非定论、动态而非静止、邀请而非排斥的诗歌。当读者穿越时空读到这样的诗歌时,他们能真切地感受到诗人的存在,并与诗人建立亲密的联系,从而将一个心有灵犀的同类的声音解放出来。上述诗学理念和实践技艺是否可用"生成"一词描述?本文希望通过概览格吕克的诗艺人生对这个问题做出肯定的回答。
Louise Glück lives by what John Keats coins as Negative Capability, that is when man is capable of being in uncertainties, Mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason. A great poet, Glück believes, works this way—to gratefully stay alive, to endlessly absorb, to actively cultivate the absence of bias, to constantly use the self as a laboratory, in which to practice and master typical human dilemmas, until from such training arises an art of inquiry, not of conclusion, dynamic, not static, inviting, not excluding. When in the presence of such an art, the readers can feel the poet, make intimate contact, and thus liberate into the world a timeless human voice as well as a companion spirit. It is this art of becoming that this article aims to define as Glück’s and to interpret as an enduring one.
