摘要
翻译的重要使命是传播文化,而注释是翻译的重要一环。理雅各在翻译《论语》时,用注释把源文、译者、译文和读者连接起来,使译文成为一个具有可译性、意图性、可读性和可接受性的完整统一的文化网络系统。这一探索对中华典籍英译颇有启示:利用注释,把零碎的、分散的、断裂的文化知识织成一张巨大的文化之网,有助于在译入语中构建源语文化,让读者充分领略文化的魅力,也有利于在文化互建、文化互助、文化互照、多元共存的国际交流中建构中国形象,传播中华文化。
The important mission of translation is to spread culture,and annotation is an important part of translation.When James Legge translated the Analects,he connected the source text,the translator,the target text and the reader with annotations,making the target text a complete and unified cultural network system with translatability,intentionality,readability and acceptability.This exploration is of great significance to the translation of Chinese Classics:using annotation to weave fragmentary,scattered and broken cultural knowledge into a huge network of cultures is conducive to the construction of source culture in the target language,the readers’full understanding of the charm of culture,and the construction of China’s image in the international exchange of mutual cultural construction,assistance,illumination and multi coexistence,and the spread of Chinese Culture.
