摘要
了解英语母语使用者在写作论文摘要部分所遵守的语言习惯,有助于本族语非英语者调整自己的语言,从而与该领域内母语使用者的习惯保持一致。通过Coh-Metrix在线工具测量其摘要部分的文本特征,从词汇难度、句法复杂度和语篇连贯性三个层面量化比较,中国理工科类学者发表在期刊上的论文英文摘要和美国学者主要差异因素为单词类符/形符比、动词衔接度、动名词发生率、因果类动词重叠率和实意词重叠率等五个方面。
Understanding the language features of abstracts written by native English speakers helps non-native speakers to adjust their language use to be consistent with that of native speakers in the professional field.By the online tool Coh-Metrix,a quantitative comparison of their language features of the abstract is made from three aspects:lexical difficulty,syntactic complexity and discourse coherence.The results show that the English abstracts of Chinese scholars of science and engineering published in journals are significantly different from those written by American scholars in five aspects:type-token ratio,verb cohesion,gerund density,causative verb overlap and content word overlap.
