In order to control the echinococcosis as soon as possible,to protect the life and property security of herdsmen on the Urat grassland, and to maintain the prosperity and stability in the northern borderland,a method was established, using epidemiological survey,ELISA to measure the dog poop antigen, and sheep immunization. And"four in one"comprehensive prevention and control measure was adopted with dog manages deworming;sheep immunization;slaughter quarantine;and innocent treatment of diseased organs, health education and publicity training. The progress of initial stage in prevention and control has been made after more than four years of popularization of application of the method and measure. The results showed that the infection rates of the disease in dogs, sheep and camels dropped from 11.03%,11.88%and 17.93%,respectively,in 2015 to 0.79%,2.37%and 3.81%,respectively,in 2019;which met, ahead of schedule, the standards set by the Central Government and the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,to control the infection rate in dogs below 1%and in sheep below 5%.At the same time, this study provided effective technical measures for the further prevention and control of the hydatid disease on the Urat grassland, and offered reference and guidance for the prevention and control of similar epidemic diseases in other regions.
