Objective To explore the effect of health education on sleep quality and life quality of shift nurses in hospital. Methods 450employees in an enterprise from January to October 2018were sampled by cluster sampling method, and their sleep quality and life quality were evaluated by Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)and quality of life rating scale(WHOQOL).All nurses received health education, and the changes of PSQI and WHOQOL scores before and after intervention were compared. Results A total of 450 questionnaires were distributed, and 428 were effectively recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 95.11%.Among the 428people,the mean PSQI score was(7.49±1.32),174people PSQI≥7score,and the sleep disorder rate was 40.65%.The mean WHOQOL score was(72.21±12.36),which was in the middle level.Univariate and logistic multivariate regression analysis showed that gender, education level, physical exercise and shift frequency were independent factors affecting sleep quality(P<0.05).After health education,PSQI score was significantly lower than that before education, and WHOQOL score was significantly higher than that before education(P<0.05).Conclusions Shift nurses have a higher risk of sleep disorders, which affects their quality of life.Comprehensive health education is conducive to improving the quality of sleep and life of shift nurses.
