This paper mainly discusses the current status and challenges of the water pollution control in Chinese textile industry, including wastewater discharge, wastewater characteristics, discharge standards, wastewater treatment and reuse technologies, costs, and emerging contaminants. In order to meet the needs of users for the changes in textile products, the difficulty of printing and dyeing wastewater treatment is constantly increasing, and printing and dyeing wastewater treatment is a systematic project.Printing and dyeing production enterprises must fully control the input of pollutants, and adopt production technology and equipment for cleaner production.Enterprises should use green chemicals,at the same time effectively monitor the consumption of materials in the production process to avoid toxic and harmful pollutants entering the production process. From the perspective of water pollution control,it is necessary to change the end-of-pipe control to the whole process design and control.Through understanding and mastering the characteristics and intensity of pollutant input in the production process, attention should be paid to targeted pollutant control, optimization and development of new process systems to meet the emerging challenges.
