摘要
Online education has been popular since 1990s,with more and more higher education institutions and commercialized organizations adopt this model of learning and teaching. However, most of earlier studies focused on technology development or pedagogical skills, and few considered its impact on the learning culture. This paper adopts the method of logical analysis from the symbolic interactionist perspective on relevant literature with the aim to provide a better understanding of how online language edu⁃cation is changing language learning culture. While nowadays the technology has already overcome the problem of interaction by providing instant visual interactive virtual classroom, the literature reveals that learners are more inclined to have lessons in a tradi⁃tional classroom, which they assert is the only way to allow interaction in the real sense.
