Based on field survey, classification and identification of herbarium collections, 799 species of wild seed plants, which belongs to 451 genera and 114 families, were identified in the karst regions of Xishan Mountain, Kunming City, one of regions with the richest biodiversity in Yunan Province. The flora is featured by subtropical characteristics, with 63.64% of the families coming from tropical regions and the rest from temperate regions. At generic level, tropical elements make up 41.62% of the total flora and temperate elements constitute 52.93%. At species level, tropical elements account for 39.64% of the total while temperate elements make up 20.84%. The flora belongs to the Yunnan Plateau Region of Sino-Himalayan Subkingdom, the confluence of old tropical forest flora and holarctic forest flora. Eight Chinese endemic genera are found in the seed plant flora of Xishan Mountain, which plays an important part in the distribution center of the endemic genera in central Yunnan. This seed plant flora has the highest similarity coefficients with the seed plant flora of Diaoling Mountain, and its genetic relationship is closer than that of Shishan Mountain.
