摘要
小说《黑暗中的星光》以第一人称视角讲述了16岁黑人少女星儿目击好友卡里尔被白人警察枪杀的事件。作品以星儿为好友之死寻求公正为叙事驱动,采用“疏远型”不可靠叙述和“契约型”不可靠叙述共存的叙事模式。“疏远型”不可靠叙述陌生化了读者和叙述者的关系,产生审美解读。随着叙事进程的推进,读者和叙述者结成契约,读者指认出叙述者星儿在向白人索要公正的交际信息上呈现了字面上不可靠但隐喻上可靠的“悖论式效果”,最终叙述者也完成了向作者的“正常范式”靠近的可靠叙述。小说中的“疏远型”不可靠叙述和“契约型”不可靠叙述引导读者见证了黑人少女星儿的成长过程,最终让读者走近人物,增强了读者对黑人处境的同情。
The novel The Hate U Give tells the story of Starr,a 16-year-old black girl,who witnessed her friend Carriere shot by a white police officer from the perspective of the first person.The work is driven by Starr’s pursuit of justice for the death of her good friend,and adopts a narrative mode of the coexistence of the unreliable narration of“alienation”and“contractual”unreliable narration.The unreliable narration of“alienation”estranges the relationship between readers and the narrator,resulting in aesthetic interpretation.With the progression of narration,readers and the narrator form a contract,and readers point out that the narrator,Starr,presents a literally unreliable but metaphorically reliable“paradoxical effect”in demanding fair communicative information from white men.In the end,the narrator completes reliable narration that is close to the author's“normal paradigm”.The“contractual”unreliable narration and the unreliable narration of“alienation”in the novel lead readers to witness the growth of the black girl,Starr,and finally make readers approach the characters and enhance the readers'sympathy for the black’s unfavorable situation.
