摘要
《新世纪汉英大词典》(第二版)(杜瑞清2016)是我国重要的大型汉英词典,收词全面,条目准确。本文将以“有X”为例,采用对比分析和统计分析的方法,对该词典中多字条目的收录和标注问题进行研究。其中,对比词典主要是《现代汉语词典》(第7版,2016)和《新世纪汉英大词典》(第一版)(惠宇2004)。研究发现,《新世纪-2》在收词方面力求纵向系统平衡和横向系统平衡,但仍有常用词汇遗漏和配对连词未收录的问题;该词典在用法标注方面较为完善,但仍存在标注术语名称上、下义词混用、不准确和不完善的情况。因此,本文拟针对以上问题提出相关建议,期望为汉英词典多字条目收词和用法标注献一份薄力。
A New Century Chinese-English Dictionary(the first edition),praised as debut of the forth generation Chinese-English dictionary,is one of the most important large Chinese-English dictionaries because of its development on entries,definitions,examples,translation and labels.The second edition inherits its compilation principles"Readers first and emphasis on particularity"and"Chinese mainly and encyclopedia supplementary"with more comprehensive entries and more accurate labels.This paper will focus on the study of the coverage and labels of multi-word entries based on the case of"you X".It mainly adopts comparative analysis and statistical analysis and the comparative dictionaries are Modern Chinese Dictionary(the seventh edition)and A New Century Chinese-English Dictionary(the first edition).It is found that in terms of the coverage of multi-word entries,the 2nd edition strives for vertical and horizontal systematic balance,but still misses some common words and matching conjunctions;in terms of usage labels,the 2nd edition is partly perfect in stylistic labeling,emotional color labeling and discipline labeling,but there are still some problems such as inconsistent terminology,imbalance and mixed use of superordinate and hyponym.Therefore,this paper intends to put forward relevant suggestions on the problems and hope to make a contribution to the coverage and usage labels of multi-word entries in Chinese-English dictionaries.
