摘要
汉语和英语的巨大差别导致很多相同概念有不同的表达方式,建筑领域一些砖墙砌筑术语就是典型的例子。中文砖墙砌筑术语几乎全是对砌筑方法的直接描述,而英文砖墙砌筑术语既有直接描述,也有其他命名法。而且英文砖墙砌筑术语的直接描述思路,也与中文有不小区别。本文旨在通过实例说明砖墙砌筑疑难术语译法的查找与确定策略。
Great differences between Chinese and English result in different expressions of many concepts in the two languages. In architecture, nearly all Chinese brick masonry terms are descriptions of brick masonry methods, while English ones are not. Moreover, the way of describing rules of brick masonry terms differs between the two languages. The paper aims to demonstrate how to search and identify the English translations of some hard-to-translate brick masonry terms in Chinese.
