Objective To explore the application effect and value of PBL in clinical teaching of critical care medicine. Methods A total of 100 students who practiced in intensive care medicine department of our hospital from May 2017 to May 2019 were selected as research objects. They were randomly divided into two groups by number table method, including PBL teaching group(observation group)and traditional teaching group(control group),50 students in each group, and their learning achievements werestatistically analyzed and compared. Results The students in the observation group were better than the control group in basic knowledge understanding, autonomous learning initiative, distributed thinking ability, teamwork spirit and analytical processing ability. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of PBL teaching method in the intensive medical teaching, can promote students to actively explore and solve problems, stimulate the learning initiative, cultivating clinical thinking and logical thinking, quick to master relevant knowledge, improve the clinical ability,to adapt to the trend of modern teaching and intensive medical rapid development trend,to provide the original power for the development of intensive medicine.
