摘要
贸易自由化和全球价值链分工是逆全球化背景下贸易发展的两大重要特征。本文使用2000—2014年我国海关企业产品数据、WITS进口关税数据和WIOD投入产出数据,使用分位数模型等方法,考虑中间品的价值链嵌入位置后,研究了中间品贸易自由化对企业出口产品质量的影响。研究发现:(1)中间品贸易自由化会促进产品质量升级,企业进口中间品下游度越低,这一机制效应就越强;(2)上述机制在出口高质量产品的企业会更强,体现为在面对贸易自由化冲击时,产品质量升级存在低下游度和高出口质量的组合效应;(3)相较于出口低收入国家的企业,出口高收入国家的企业面对中间品贸易自由化冲击,能够更好吸收各类中间品的技术溢出效应,从而促进产品质量升级。本文的研究为逆全球化背景下,出口企业产品质量升级路径提供了理论证据和经验支持。
Trade liberalization and global value chains are the major two characteristics presented in world trade in the context of deglobalization.Using data of enterprises’product from Chinese customs concerning,WITS import tariff data and WIOD from 2000 to 2014,this paper studies the impact of trade liberalization of intermediate products upon the quality of export products with the consideration of intermediate goods’positioning in value chain.We find that:1)trade liberalization of intermediate products contributes to quality upgrades,a mechanism more explicitly exhibited if the intermediate products are less downstream;2)the above mechanism is also more explicit for the enterprises exporting high-quality products,reflected by the effect of combination of products’downstream level and their high export quality when quality upgrade is under the impact of trade liberalization;3)enterprises that export to high-income countries would better assimilate the technology spillover effect of various intermediate products,compared with those exporting to low-income countries,and thus facilitate the upgrade of product quality.The above conclusions provide theoretical evidence and empirical support for exporting enterprises'product quality upgrade in the context of deglobalization.
