摘要
本文对中国文化现代化的发展历程做了总体的回顾与评析。作者认为 ,对现代性的追求构成了中国文化现代转型的基本思想主题 ;就发展演进的内在逻辑而言 ,现代中国文化走过了一个现代化的价值理想从“外在冲击”到“内在转化”的过程 ;中国文化现代转型的主要成就包括在特殊的历史条件下延续中国文化之民族慧命、在一定程度上使中国文化具备了现代文化的价值取向与思想框架、中国文化的世界化迈出了坚实步伐等三个方面 ;人类文化发展中后现代转向的出现在使中国文化面临两难困境的同时亦为其进一步开展提供了新的机遇 ;面向 2 1世纪 ,中国文化必须通过新的综合与新的创造 ,切实完成既实现价值系统从前现代向现代的转换又超越西方式现代性的双重任务。
The pursuit of modernity is the prime mover in China's cultural modernization. In terms of the inner logic of development, modern Chinese culture has undergone a process from “external impact' to “internal transformation' in its values. This transformation has resulted in the following: ——The continuity, under specific historical conditions, of China's traditional culture ——The endowment, to a degree, of Chinese culture with modern cultural value orientations and conceptual frameworks ——China has made firm strides to gear its culture to the world.
