A detailed research of discolorment mechanism on oil-extended SBS is conducted and the resolvents are given out. The discolorment in procedure of oil-extended SBS was mainly caused by the reaction of Antioxidant 1076 and vestigial active SB after the coupling reaction. The content of aromatichydrocarbon in extender oil was the key factor which influenced the light stability of oil-extended SBS greatly. It was an important way to improve the light stability by adding photostabilizer in oil-extended SBS. Photostabilizer UV-P could greatly improve the light stability of oil-extended SBS.
