The metabolic disorder caused by hypertension has different degrees of damage to the body organs. The treatment of hypertension should not be limited to lowering blood pressure, but also it is very important to treat the damage of target organs of hypertension. In this paper, we summarized and analyzed the therapeutic methods of essential hypertension, and compared the therapeutic effects of various therapeutic methods on metabolic disorders caused by hypertension and the damage of target organs of hypertension in order to find an effective method for the clinical treatment of hypertension and target organ damage. Among the various treatment methods, traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine are more effective than Western medicine in the treatment of target organ damage, and have more effect on target organs. The side effect is relatively small, the price is moderate. However, metabolism is a very complex process, it is easy to be affected by internal and external factors. In the treatment of diseases, it is necessary to consider the overall situation of the patients from the whole, in order to treat the disease more accurately.
