摘要
与城市和郊区图书馆相比,美国农村图书馆的研究相对较少。美国农村图书馆在数字技术服务方面落后于城市和郊区图书馆。将The Public Library Technology and Access Study数据与其他研究数据相结合,通过数字共融架构过滤这些数据,表明美国农村图书馆和非农村图书馆之间的差异不仅仅是技术基础设施薄弱的问题。在数据分析基础上,构建消除数字差异的几种模式,列举出实施这些模式必须克服的障碍。
Rural libraries have been understudied when compared to public libraries in America.Rural libraries lag behind urban and suburban counterparts in technology service offerings.Data from the Public Library Technology and Access Study,along with data from some smaller studies are analyzed.By filtering these data through the digital inclusion framework,it becomes clear that disparities between rural and nonrural libraries are not merely a problem of weaker technological infrastructure.On the basis of data analysis,several models of eliminating digital differences are constructed,and obstacles that must be overcome in implementing these models are listed.
