Correlation Between Fat Fraction and R2~* Values in the Lumbar and Bone Mineral Density and Age

摘要 目的分析腰椎脂肪含量(FF)、R2~*与骨密度(BMD)及年龄的相关性,探讨腰椎FF与R2~*的诊断价值。资料与方法测定65例符合条件的研究对象L1、L2、L3、L4椎体的FF、R2~*,对各椎体间的FF及R2~*进行单因素分析。分析L1~L4椎体FF及R2~*分别与BMD及年龄的相关性及FF与R2~*的相关性。结果 L1、L2、L3、L4椎体的BMD、FF、R2~*比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05)。L1~L4椎体平均BMD与FF呈负相关(r=-0.411,P=0.001),与R2~*呈正相关(r=0.395,P=0.001)。年龄与BMD呈负相关(r=-0.405,P=0.001),与FF呈正相关(r=0.578,P=0.000);而R2~*与年龄无相关性(r=-0.014,P=0.911)。L1~L4椎体平均FF与R2~*无相关性(r=-0.11,P=0.382)。结论定量分析腰椎FF及R2~*有助于评价骨强度,具有潜在的诊断骨质疏松的能力。 Purpose To analyze the correlation between the fat fraction (FF) and R2^* values (R2^*) in the lumbar and bone mineral density (BMD) and age, and to investigate the diagnostic value of lumbar FF and R2^*. Materials and Methods The FF and R2^* in L1, L2, L3 and L4 vertebral bodies of the 65 patients who met the study criteria were measured and univariate analysis was performed on FF and R2^* between the vertebral bodies. The FF and R2^* in L1-L4 vertebral bodies were respectively correlated with BMD and age. Then the correlation between FF and R2^* was analyzed. Results There was no significant difference in BMD, FF and R2^* between L1, L2, L3 and L4 vertebral bodies (P>0.05). The mean BMD was significantly negatively correlated with FF in L1-L4 vertebral bodies (r=-0.411, P=0.001) while the mean BMD was significantly positively correlated with R2^*(r=0.395, P=0.001). There was a significantly negative correlation between age and BMD (r=-0.405, P=0.001) while there was a significantly positive correlation between age and FF (r=0.578, P=0.000). The R2^* had no correlation with age (r=-0.014, P=0.911). The mean FF in L1-L4 vertebral bodies had no correlation with R2^*(r=-0.11, P=0.382). Conclusion Quantitative analysis of lumbar FF and R2^* helps to assess bone strength and has the potential to diagnose osteoporosis.
