摘要
西部民族地区外经贸发展的严重滞后，是其整个经济裹足不前的重要制约因素。为打破这一恶性循环，必须大力发展特色外经贸，它是西部民族地区外经贸发展的必由之路，是迎接和参与市场竞争、提高国际竞争力的有效途径。为此，必须以产业为先导，努力扩大特色产品出口，大力发展边境贸易和边境经济合作，在特色资源开发和国际旅游业上做文章，并采取一系列具体措施，为西部地区对外经贸和整体经济的快速发展做出更大贡献。
The fact that the foreign trade and economic cooperation lag gravely behind in the minority areas in western China is both an outcome of the low economic growth in the whole region and a conditioning element to the economic development. To break the vicious circle, we must strive to promote the foreign trade and economic cooperation with characteristics. This will be the road to the development of the foreign trade and economic cooperation in the minority areas in western China. Also, it will be the effective way to meet and participate to the market competition and enhance the international competitive strength. Consequently, we must, on the foundation of industrial development, make efforts to promote the exportation of special local products and enlarge the frontier trade and economic cooperation. Moreover, various measures must be adopted in the exploitation of special local resources and in the development of international tourism. All these will help to speed up the foreign trade and economic cooperation as well as the whole economy in western China.
