摘要
巴色会是 19世纪中叶以来以香港作为基地专门向客家人传教的基督教教会组织。巴色会传教士编写了大量的客家方言圣经译本和其他的客家方言著作 ,准确地反映和完整地保留了一百多年前香港新界一带客家方言的基本面貌 ,并最早使用西方现代语言科学的方法进行分析和研究 。
The Basel missionary society is an Evangelical missionary based in Hong Kong to preach particularly to Hakka speaking people since the middle of the 19th century.Their priests have translated the Bible into Hakka and also wrote a lot of works in Hakka.These documents accurately recorded the Hakka dialect spoken in the New Territories of Hong Kong more than a century ago,so that the basic form of the dialect is relatively well preserved.As a result,the dialect was analyzed and studied scientifically by the western linguistic method and reached the highest academic level at that time.
