This paper introduces the NC2000 software of hydropower plant SCADA systems, which is intentionally made to satisfy the increasing demands of production and management of hydropower plants. Some new techniques used in the NC2000 system, such as object-oriented programming (OOP) methodology, distributed object technology, three-tier Client/Server structure, and so on are briefly introduced. This paper also describes the main characteristics of the NC2000 system.
