On the Genesis of Zhi-Ji

摘要 Zhi Ji was the very important contents of Chinese Ritual cultural in the early stage. Since the Western Han Dynasty, it has been believed that Zhi Ji started from sacrificing to The Heaven and The Earth of QIN Wen gong by most of the Chinese scholars. This article believes that Zhi Ji, from the conformation of the records of antique documents, and the location of Zhi and the form of altar (Zhi tan), originated in the more early ages. Namely, this consecration was the people of Former Qin praying for good harvests . Then, in the beginning of Former Han Dynasty, the consecration of Five Zhi was mixed up with The Five emperors(Wu Di).
