摘要
本文是作者针对现当代中国创意创新发展理论的评述。着重点评了威尔·霍顿关于中国没有能力完成新现代化任务,中国的现代化是不完全的看法。霍顿认为要做到这一点的唯一方法就是要完全采纳和接受西方"启蒙价值"。而本文作者认为,这种说法是一种典型的"西方中心论",它完全忽视了所谓的"启蒙价值"也可能导致与文明截然相反的"野蛮"行径,比如现代化初期的资本主义殖民统治。本文建议运用后殖民主义理论来重新审视中国所特有的现代化发展模式及其资源。通过对现当代文化产业和创意产业在中国的发展模式的理论进行的比较和分析,作者认为文化创意产业在中国以及在西方社会的发展历程并不能简单地用"启蒙价值"来一概而论。
The article discusses some recent writing on innovation and creativity in contemporary China.It looks in depth at the writings of Will Hutton who argues that China is only incompletely modernised as seen in its inability to move onto the new stage of modernisation,and that it will not be able to do this until it adopts‘enlightenment values'.The author suggests that this is a familiar western centric view and does not consider the connections between‘enlightenment'and violence,particularly in the form of colonialism.It uses postcolonial theory to suggest alternative views of modernity and the resources that China might possess.It ends by looking at some contemporary critique of the cultural and creative industries and suggests that their presence in China,as with their presence in the West,does not automatically mean we have‘enlightenment'values in the way Hutton suggests.
