摘要
《楞伽经》对于禅宗的传承有着至关重要的作用,曾一度是禅门单传印心的重要工具,受到禅门释子的推崇。自这部经典传入中土之后,译经僧人前后进行四次翻译,现存版本有四卷本、七卷本、十卷本等。但是从影响力来讲以四卷本《楞伽经》为最,并受到达摩禅系的重视,将其作为传宗印心的基本工具。达摩之所以选择四卷本《楞伽经》作为传法的工具是因其产生时间早,语言简练,特别是在思想上符合达摩禅系的要求,从而为四卷本《楞伽经》的广泛流传创造了有利的条件。
Once a very important book and highly praised by the Zen Buddhism, the Lankavatara Sutra has been playing a vital role in its transmission and acceptance. Since its introduction into China, its translation has been conducted four times before and after. The existing versions include four volumes, seven volumes, and ten volumes, etc. However, the four-volume Lankavatara Sutra is the most influential one, especially highly valued and regarded as a basic tool for its transmission and acceptance by the Dharma Zen Sect. Its early publication, concise language, especially its ideological conformity with the requirements of the Dharma Zen Sect, all these has made its widespread possible.
