摘要
外宣翻译多采用归化策略,强调对目的语的语言文化顺应,这与英语作为强势语言不无关系。然而,顺应论不应被解释为单向的。在强调对目的语顺应的同时,外宣翻译也是一个对源语语言和文化的动态顺应过程。这既是传播我国语言文化、构建融通中外的话语体系的需要,也是新型国际关系背景下外宣翻译的新要求。它要求译者主动顺应语境,遵循与交际环境、交际现象和交际目的的一致性,保持高度的政治敏锐性,尽可能地在目的语中保留中华文化的"文化他者"地位,彰显文化的差异性,通过灵活变通的手段将中华文化准确、有效地传递给世界。
Domesticating translation is commonly used in Chinese-English Publicity Materials Translation, which stresses the adaptation to the language and culture in target language. This trend is closely related to the fact that English is a majority societal language. However, theory of adaptation should not be explained as unidirectional, instead, while emphasizing the adaptation to the target language and culture, we should also notice that Chinese-English Publicity Materials Translation should also be a dynamic process of adapting to Chinese language and culture. This is not only the need of the communication of Chinese language and culture in the world , the reconstruction of language system between China and the foreign countries, but also the new demand of China＇ s global communication under the new model of international relations. The translators need to adapt to the context, maintaining consistency with communication environment, communication activities and communication purposes. They are expected to be politically sensitive, highlight mnlticulturalism by preserving ＂the Other＂ of Chinese culture, and translate the Chinese publicity materials into English accurately with flexible methods for higher effects.
