Objective: To investigate the influence of blood specimens storage time and temperature on the blood cell analysis. Methods: Whole blood specimens of 40 cases stored at room temperature and stored at 4℃ respectively, and each specimen was divided into two parts. The specimens were detected by Mindray 5180 automated hematology analyzer for 0 h( instant test),2 h,4 h,8 h,12 h and 24 h and analyzed statistically. Results: Compared with immediate test results, mean platelet volume( MPV) after 4 h and mean corpuscular volume( MCV) after 12 h showed significant differences at room temperature( P〈0. 05). Specimens at 4℃ were significant difference only after 24 h compared with instant test results( P〈0. 05). Compared with specimens at 4 ℃ for the same time, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration( MCHC) results decreased after 8 h and MCV results increased after 12 h at room temperature showed significant difference( P〈0. 05). Conclusion: Within 24 h,storage time and conditions have a certain impact on the results of whole blood cell analysis. The blood cell analysis should be completed as soon as possible in a short time,if not timely submission,it should be stored at 4℃ condition.
