Objective To explore the application effect of nursing risk management in reducing the incidence of adverse events in elderly patients with internal medicine, and to provide evidence for effective risk management program. Methods In the Department of Internal Medicine,1,692 elderly patients were divided into the control group( n = 827) and the observation group( n = 865). The control group received routine nursing care, and the experimental group received nursing risk management on the basis of routine nursing care. Before and after the implementation of nursing risk management, the two groups of nursing staff work quality, risk awareness and adverse events, patient satisfaction. Results After the implementation of risk management, internal medicine in elderly patients with the incidence of adverse events was 0. 92%,was significantly lower than that before the implementation of the 2. 42%( P 0. 05); 91. 21% patient satisfaction was significantly higher than the control group 77.75%( P0.05); nursing staff's sense of responsibility, communication skills, awareness of risk scores were significantly higher than the control group( P0.05). Conclusions Through implementing risk management for elderly patients in internal medicine department,we can effectively reduce the incidence of nursing adverse events, improve nurses' awareness of risk prevention and control, help reduce nursing risks and improve patients' satisfaction.
