摘要
白莲教前身为白莲宗 ,属于佛教净土宗的一个支派。由于底层民众的政治需求、社会动荡时期宗教文化的整合以及教团组织形式的世俗化等诸多原因 ,白莲教的教义在元代由弥陀信仰衍变为弥勒信仰。弥勒净土信仰在白莲教中经历了从初步渗透、局部质变到成为信仰主流的过程 ,白莲教也因此附着上弥勒信仰的反叛特性 ,从而逐步由合法变为非法、由正统宗教变为民间秘密宗教。可见 ,宗教教义及其社会作用的改变 ,以及官方态度与政策的变化等 ,是正统宗教转变为民间秘密宗教甚至邪教的原因和路径。
s: The previous existence of Bailian Religion was Bailian Zhong, which was a branch of Jingtu Zhong in Buddhism. Because a lot of factors, such as the political needs of folk people, the cooperation of religion culture during the era of social turbulence, and the becoming secular for religion organization, the creeds of Bailian Religion changed from Mituo belief to Mile belief in Yuan Dynasty. Thus, Bailian Religion was put with the rebel character of Mile belief, and changed generally from a legal religion into illegal one, from an orthodox religion into a folk secret one.
