摘要
翻译与哲学的密切联系源自对人与世界的关系、语言意义等终极认识的共同追求,探究家族相似理论在可译度研究中的解释力,能够拓展翻译研究的视野。家族相似视角下文化意象可译度评估要素包括:语言、文化的相似度;生活形式、语境的相似度;原作和译作之间的关系;译者的主体间性。基于诗词文化意象个案研究可知,首先,多元文化家族各成员之间的相似性是跨文化翻译的前提。其次,复杂多样的社会文化因素是细致量化分析的难点。最后,家族相似不仅描述翻译研究中的多维度相似现象,更为衡量可译度提供动态多元的评估框架。
The close hnk between translation studies and philosophy stems from their common pursuit of ontological knowledge regarding relation between human beings and the world and regarding the meaning of language. In this sense, study on trans- latability from the angle of family resemblance, a notion proposed by Wittgenstein, can largely expand the research scope of translation studies. The appraisal framework for translatability of cultural imagery consists of the following： similarities between languages and cultures, similarities between form of life and context, relation between the source text and the target text and inter-subjectivity of translators. In the present research, a case study of poetic cultural imagery clearly reveals that resemblance between different cultures serves as the prerequisite for cross-cultural translation; that the complex and diverse sociocultural factors render a detailed quantitative analysis difficult; and that family resemblance can be employed not only to depict the multifaceted phenomena of similarities in the descriptive approach of translation studies, but also to build up a dynamic and multidimensional appraisal system to gauge translatability of cultural imagery.
