In recent years, with the emerging of all kinds of IT and internet products/services, the phenomenon that people switch among various IT products/services has become more and more popular. In the study of user information behavior, the exploration of user switch behavior is drawing more attention from the academia and industry. Firstly, based on the relevant literature on user switch in information management field, the study defines the user switch behavior, and summarizes the characteristics of switch behavior as complexity, selectivity, slowness and dynamic. Then, the study divides user switch behavior into three categories, namely users' switch among products/services under the different media, users' switch among homogeneous products/services as well as the switch in heterogeneous products/service sunder the same media, and research context has been classified into four categories, namely entertainment, social, commercial and tool-based. Subsequently, the study addresses the theoretical foundations on switch behavior research in information management field. Then, the influencing factors of users' switch behavior are summarized from five aspects, namely, the related factors of the incumbent IT products/services, the related factors of the alternative IT products/services,mooring factors, social factors and demographics. At last, the study puts forward some future research directions of user switch behavior.
