摘要
"连"的本义"负车"是动词,先秦时"连"由动词的引申义"连接"发展为表"连续"的方式副词,至此,"连"有两个常用意义,一是动词表"连接",二是副词表"连续"。随后这两个意义的"连"沿着各自不同的轨迹虚化,分别形成了普通话助词"连"和湘语语气副词"连"。
The original sense of lian is ＂a person pulling a cart＂ which is a verb. The manner adverb lian which means continuity comes from the extended meaning of verb lian in the Qin Dynasty, which refers to connecting things. So far, the word lian has two basic meanings. One is the verb referred to the meaning of connection, and the other is the manner adverb referred to the meaning of continuity. The two different words lian make grammaticalization along different ways, and finally they develop into the auxiliary word lian in Mandarin Chinese, and the modal adverb lian in Xiang dialect respectively.
