In modern China, as a result of the invasion of foreign powers and the harms of foreign opium, the Chinese people were stigmatized as the "sick man of East Asia". The "zero" record at the Olympics Games has been an unforgettable shame to the Chinese nation. Therefore, Mr. Zhang Boling, the then president of Nankai University, proposed "three dreams" for Chinese Olympics and set clear goals for it. On the journey of pursuing the Olympic dreams, the Chinese nation has undergone twists and turns but changed its image from the " sick man of East Asia" to the " Oriental Giant" to " an im- portant participant in all sports events in the world". The achievements made by the Chinese sports have written a brilliant chapter for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In fulfilling the Olympic dreams of the Chinese nation, some movies and documentaries have been made to record the Chinese Olympics. These visuals have become a cultural symbol that retain memories of how the Chinese people have pursued their sports dreams in the Olympic spirit. By studying these visuals, we can discover the symbolic features of the Chinese Olympic memory and the changes of the Chinese national image, re- veal the significance of the Chinese Olympic visuals for the collective memory construction of the Chi- nese national image and comprehensively interpret the image expression of the national spirit and the sports spirit in the Olympic memory.
