From Heterotopia to Utopia: A Study of Two Editions of “In a Station of the Metro”

摘要《在地铁车站》作为庞德最著名的意象诗之一,一直存在不同的版本,区别主要在于诗句间的标点。本文试从诗作所涉及的地点(地铁车站)以及诗作中主要意象(树干上的花瓣)切入,联系福柯所提出的异托邦,分析地铁作为现代异托邦的存在,树干上的花瓣指向诗人心目中乌托邦——中国的存在。标点的改动代表了对于前后两句空间关系认识的变化,体现了诗人对于意象诗创作理念的改变,也反映了诗人对于中国观念的变化。对于版本更迭的探究可以重新认识庞德的意象诗,并为今后研究庞德作品与中国的关系提供依据。 'In a Station of the Metro',as the most distinguished imagist poem of Ezra Pound,has two different versions all along.The difference between them lies in the punctuation between the lines.This essay attempts to approach the poem through the place(the metro station,one of the main images of the poetry),the petals on the bough,using the'heterotopia'proposed by Foucault,and views the metro station as the modern heterotopia and the petals as referring to the utopia of China.
