Objective To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type with eight points of cervical acupuncture. Methods 122 patients with vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. 61 cases in treatment group were treated with cervical acupuncture in the treatment of eight points. After 1 course of treatment, the cervical vertigo symptoms and functional score scale (evaluation scale for cervical vertigo, ESCV) and clinical assessment scale for cervical spondylosis,(CASCS), vertebral artery mean velocity (mean velocity, Vm) were used to evaluate the effect of TCM syndrome score. The clinical efficacy was analyzed. Results After treatment, ESCV score, 'CASCS score, vertebral artery Vm, TCM syndrome score in the treatment group had no significant differences compared with the control group (P〈0.05). The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 93.44% and 78.69%, there was statistically significant difference(P〈0.05). Conclusion Carotid needle eight acupoint can significantly improve patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis clinical symptoms, vertebral artery mean velocity and TCM syndrome, provide effective treatment in treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis, it is worthy of further promotion and application.
